Slept much better. As I lay in bed, I looked out my big windows toward the forest in the back. To my delight, I saw a pileated woodpecker, big bird, bigger than a crow, bright red crest, pecking away furiously at my maple tree. It made my day.

Did some laundry. Then drove to Assateague Island Seashore. It was a cold, windy day. I saw only 2 ponies in the marsh in a distance and some ducks paddling in the bay. On the shore, near the dunes, was a man with an impressive photo lens, taking pictures of a toy Tonka dump truck in the sand (???).

After lunch and a lay-down I blanched green beans I had bought at Sam’s (froze some), did my usual activities, had dinner, followed by TV.

Had a medium sleep. Played piano and blogged. After lunch and a lay-down, my furniture cleaner arrived. He spent 2 1/2 hours on my TV room couch, love seat, kitchen chairs, and car seats. I was pleased with our conversations (he was very friendly). He told me about 86 year old neighbor who does not have arthritis — just keeps going. He said he was jealous, he is developing hip problems. The furniture (beige) looks brighter and fresh.

After my usual activities and dinner, I head from my Denver son. He and his wife are going to the Indiana /Miami game in Miami on Monday for the national championship, their alma mater. They are very excited. I’ll watch it on TV. Also my grandson is getting my blogs in his email, which he figured out on his own after I gave him the right URL to get on.

Slept better. After my morning shake and stretching and balancing exercises (I do them first thing every day), I drove to the library to get a bookl on hold, ‘What the Dog Saw,’ by Malcolm Gladwell. He is a writer for the New Yorker magazine. I think I have read all his other books.

After that I went to Walmart and spent $100. Among many other things they have dated wild caught Atlantic fish. I bought salmon and cod. I called my daughter-in-law’s mother after to catch up on things. It was a 3 way conversation since they were in the car on their way to their second home in Grand Lake and her husband was driving.

Next I went for a walk in Herring County Park nearby. The sun was slanting, lovely. The only other person was a woman walking a medium sized dog in a red coat.

When I went home, I blogged. The rest of the evening went as usual.
