Sunday was good. I zoomed all 3 of my churches. My Pittsburgh miinister gave a talk on the true nature of Mary, Jesus’ mother. She was not simple and submissive, as presented for centuries. She was really a rebel, which is what Jesus was, too. My Denver minister gave a talk on how wrong the usual Bible interpretation of turning the other cheek was. He gave a detailed explanation of how it was really an act of defiance, not humility and submission.
In the afternoon I went with my daughter-in-law’s parents and family to a Christmas Brunch at the Red Rocks Country Club. As usual, the food was delicious and plentiful. After eating, the parents and kids lined up downstairs to visit Santa. My 14 year old grandson said emphatically he would not sit on Santa’s lap. When the time came for him and his younger cousins, he complied. Later I asked him why. He said if he didn’t sit on Santa’s lap, Santa said he would put him in a choke hold.
Monday was a walk to the gym and a session on the recumbent bike, followed by a pedicure. I had discovered a place I could walk to. Cutting my nails at 84 is very difficult and a jagged trim. The technician did a great job and I am set for another 6 weeks. She was very pleasant and interested in my story.
That evening I tried calling my Virginia son, but there was no answer.
