Slept well. After my shake and exercises drove to Berlin (5 miles) to return a library book and take my walk there. I adored the stately old MD homes on Main Street, large, white, everyone different, spacious lots, well maintained, probably built in a time of prosperity. The library grounds grew food for the needy. There also were 2 fig trees loaded with figs. I will think where I could plant a fig tree on my property. In Pittsburgh, we had one from Italy, that produced 100 figs one year.
I stopped at the grocery store on the way home. After lunch and lay-down, I cleared the refrigerator of food there too long. I blogged. played piano, did hip exercises , cooked cod fish. Read my ‘Living Bird’ magazine from Cornell. Watched ‘Wall Street Week’ on PBS. Finished a good, old movie, ’Two Faces of the Mirror’, a rom com with top actors. Bed followed at 9:30.
Slept well. After my shake and exercises, tried streaming my churches. Pittsburgh didn’t come through. Delaware had sound but no picture. The sermon came from a guest minister, and it was super good. (The arc of justice is broad but it must be pressured. Resist.). The congregation clapped at the end. The Denver stream had both picture and sound. The sermon, ‘Let’s Talk about Men’ was superb. Everyone should hear it.
During lunch I chipped a tooth. Bummer. If it doesn’t hurt, I’ll wait 3 weeks for my next dental appointment. I found a small empty pill bottle, planning to take it with me. Maybe the dentist can glue it back (???).
After lunch and lay-down, I organized the fridge and pantry, and rolled my trash to the curb for pick-up tomorrow. Then I blogged, ordered a replacement water filter, installed under my sink by my Denver son.
Since the weather was good, I drove to Berlin at 5 to attend a free band concert on the lawn at Taylor House (historic). I went to one last summer and brought my lawn chair. But I forgot it this time. I got there early enough to sit on one of the wooden benches. The seven instruments (3 guitars, keyboards, drums, bongo drums, harmonica player, and a vocalist were good. I especially liked the reggae. I also loved seeing the families and kids there. Kids danced to music.
After dinner I watched a movie and went to bed.
