Today is the day my new furnace is to be installed. I am hoping nothing goes wrong. I am tired of cold mornings and uneven heat.
I logged onto my Zoom meditation group. I love seeing everyone (about 16). and look forward to what each has to comment on relating to the reading and their personal lives. But, if all goes as planned, my visit will be short.
And, as hoped, my meditation was interrupted by the furnace installers. I was so happy. I wanted to be available for whatever they might need. So I spent hours reading articles on Apple News. About 3:30 pm they were done. The house heat was definitely more even. I gave them pumpkin bread as a thank you, which they appreciated.
Later I talked to a friend. Except for Christmas cards, we hadn’t communicated for 43 years. We were neighbors from the time of our sons’ births through most of elementary school. The kids were always running back and forth, did a lot together. We socialized and were good friends. Her husband died in October 2021. Mine died two years earlier. The biggest help to me in the early days was talking with widows who had long happy marriages and happy families (my case). I wanted to do the same for her. The only oddity is that her husband’s death certificate had cause of death as ‘pending.’ He was in a dementia unit (mild) but kept falling down lot. The doctors could not determine why, no diagnosis. They didn’t know why he died. The coroner requested a drug test report, which takes months. More to come.
